DCFS requires licensed daycare centers to test for radon every 3 years.

Best practice in radon testing is to test your daycare during the week, when the facility is occupied, and normal activities are taking place. The devices are harmless, and the process, from start to finish, takes about a week. We typically deploy the devices on a Monday or a Tuesday, retrieve the devices on Thursday or Friday, and your report is ready the following week.

The only testing requirement during the measurement is that windows and doors must be kept closed, except for normal coming and going. A copy of your floor plan is helpful in determining your cost.
